Well well well, long time no see. About time I made a post this year. I want to get more into my writing projects again this year, and I finally have some time to do that! So, for today, I'm showing off some cleaned up versions of The Truce Saga!

Yeah...there was no way I wasn't starting off this topic without this: Surprisingly that's very fitting considering what we see in the trailers for this movie.
Anyso, this isn't as much a review of the movie as just some general thoughts I wanted to get posted. It's been a long time for me to get these topic talks in motion, so I want to get back to that, if only for my own sanity. :P And it's fitting to say that, since Today's Topic Talk is about the insanity found in the Joker movie that came out recently. I have some things I want to talk about, though I think less than usual. So, this will be a little bit short...and a lotta bit delayed...but this is about the Joker movie. Spoilers...because really, that's what we're here for. Well...it's been a while. Especially for doing Today's Topic Talk. I've been wanting to do these for a while, just to get my thoughts out there, but I've been busy with offline stuff, and I just never had a major excuse to come back. UNTIL TODAY! Yeah, that...final trailer? Huh...well, it's interesting to say the least. There is a lot to say though, so...let's get to it!
Well, all this back and forth with different time travel stories definitely took me longer to get these cleaned up. But I felt I had to do it just so they could look as nice as the others. I feel better now that it's done, and I hope you enjoy the stories! ^_^

I actually had a friend look through the series as it currently is and gave me ideas for a further revision someday, but for now I just want to get a few things cleaned up so it at least looks a little better. In any case, enjoy!

I'll post the links for ease, but I just had to get some bits cleaned up to make them look a little better. Enjoy!
Sonic Supreme Sonic Supreme 2 Sonic Supreme 3 Sonic Supreme 4 Sonic Supreme 5 Sonic Supreme 6 Sonic Supreme 7 Sonic Supreme 8 Sonic Supreme 9 Sonic Supreme 10 Sincerely, Lan Prower Kopaka So...Today's Topic Talk is one I've wanted to talk about for a while...Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi. When this came out, I really enjoyed it and felt that, while it wasn't perfect, it could be in my top 3 Star Wars movies. A year has passed since then, and thinking further about the movie, seeing the reactions to other people, and how the series has gone on...I'm conflicted with my feelings.
There's a lot for me to like about it. The opening with Poe taking on the Fulminatrix by myself, and then gradually bringing in the StarFortress heavy bombers (or T-Wings) was a cool thing to see. It wasn't a perfect scene, there's some strange things that happen in it (the Resistance flagship Raddus just sits and doesn't try to run away until after Poe destroys the First Order's Star Dreadnought, Poe makes some jokes that are hit and miss, BB-8 of all people quotes "I have a bad feeling about this" apparently), but I still like the opening a lot. Then it gets weirder. Finn is back, great! But he walks around the ship in a leaking bag suit...and nobody does anything but Poe? :S Luke is back! But then he acts moody, which is fine when you realize what's his backstory...but then they show him drinking milk... The Resistance wants to send out a distress signal to their allies in the Outer Rim...but they won't just fly there? They're scattered, but you could just go to one of them. Then the First Order finds them (we'll talk about that later), and Connix (the girl with the Leia hair-bun-things) reveals they have enough fuel resources for one more jump to lightspeed....you guys brought that little? This isn't too weird since the Resistance was barely funded according to backstory stuff, but without that, it's really weird. This then leads to things that are, well, kind of dumb. So the First Order can't catch up to the Raddus because it's "faster and lighter." I'm not sure if that makes sense considering they stay right behind them for most of the movie. But it completely ignores that the First Order has two dozen Star Destroyers that can just use lightspeed to jump around and in front of the Resistance. The only thing that sort of saves this is that the villains seem like they're just "playing with their food" as it were. They also kill off the leaders of the Raddus, and nearly kill off Leia too, but she ends up in a coma instead of dying. I'll get to this later. One of the things I did like was they established why Snoke wanted Kylo Ren to emmulate Darth Vader, but I think it may have been too subtle for its own good. Snoke wants Kylo to kill the Jedi, then kill Luke, the last hope of the Jedi, and hopefully kill off all hope as a result, all similar to how Darth Vader destroyed the Jedi Order. With that in mind, it makes sense why Snoke would groom Kylo to be a Vader 2.0. We also see Luke go onto the Millennium Falcon, take Han's dice, and reunites with R2-D2. It's all good stuff. Unfortunately, we have to go to something bad. We're introduced to Amilyn Holdo, the person meant to take over the Raddus. She's...really frustrating. She's got quite an attitude and is willing to throw out insults to Poe in a public setting. This would just make her a jerk, but then she does something that becomes highly dangerous. Poe comes up to her, and despite everything, keeps fairly calm and just asks what's the plan. Her response...is just to stick to his post and follow her orders. She didn't give any orders... Now, to get to the real spoiling...the actual plan is fly straight toward a planet called Crait, secretly eject all the crew, let the Raddus fly away as a distraction, and let the Resistance call for help on the planet Crait. That...is a horrible plan. First, it depends on the First Order sticking to their "taunting the prey" strategy. Secondly, it depends on the First Order not seeing the escaping crew. Thirdly, for whatever reason, it requires not telling any of the crew of the plan (and this is the crew, not just Poe, otherwise Poe could ask other crew members; even if they don't tell him what the plan is, if they all say the plan is good, then he'll be able to trust them instead of making his own plan...we'll get to THAT later). Fourthly...the plan falls apart anyway, after all the work to set it up, they get to Crait, call for help, and no one answers; while Holdo couldn't have predicted that, if she had talked about it with the crew, they could have discussed this and come up with options instead of having...none. FIFTHLY...this all goes back to assuming the First Order are idiots (assuming the First Order chases the empty Raddus and blows it up, they'd notice no dead bodies, realize the crew escaped, and just go back to Crait and kill everyone there anyway; and keep in mind Crait is a poor defense, Star Destroyers can do orbital bombardments, they have 8000 Stormtroopers each, and they have all sorts of devices like a superlaser siege cannon, gorrilla walkers, etc.). It is mind-blowing how bad this plan is...the Resistance dies hard because of this horrible plan, and the closest we get to seeing it get called out is when Poe sees Holdo having the crew fuel some escape ships. Why she finally decided to tell some of the crew some of the plan...who knows, but it's pretty hard to evacuate a ship when barely anyone knows to evacuate. Unfortunately, this bad plan leads to Poe coming up with a plan of his own. His plan is to sneak Finn and Rose off to find a codebreaker, and then have the three of them sneak into Snoke's ship to prevent tracking the Raddus as it makes a lightspeed jump. This is a problematic plan too, as it assumes Snoke's ship has a hyperspace tracking device. It does, but there could have easily just been a spy on board (which would have been a much simpler plot, but that's another story). Poe's plan, however, illustrates multiple flaws. Poe can call Maz (who tells him to get the codebreaker), but she won't do it because she's busy...which feels contrived, but it also ignores that if Poe can call for Maz...he can call for help. Just...call for help now, don't wait for Crait. We also later see Finn and Rose leaving without any trouble, which means that the Resistance could have sneaked away at any time...and didn't. Sonyway, when we come back to Rey, she suddenly has the ability to see Kylo, and he can see her, despite being in different locations. Kylo makes a point to say he can only see her, and assumes the reverse is true. I like this story idea, but seeing it again, I realize this could have been much more fun if the actors were actually on the same set. They'd still be in their same places, but they'd see each other as if Rey was on Kylo's ship, and as if Kylo was on the planet Ahch-To with Rey. They actually do this later in the movie, sort of, but it feels like lost potential to not do it more in the movie. Speaking of Rey, Luke decides to give her lessons on why the Jedi need to end. Things are weird when it comes to her. She learns how to use the Force incredibly quick, she recognizes Ahch-To and the tree Luke is hiding books in despite (presumably) never being there, and then to make things weirder, when she's having this lesson, she realizes Luke's closed himself off from the Force. ...But he doesn't? Later in the movie he starts using the Force again. If you're closed off from the Force, why do you still get to use it? I'm assuming he decided to reconnect himself to the Force, that would explain why the movie shows him using the Force suddenly, but it's not really clear why he would. Again, I do like things about this movie. I like this connection aspect, I like that Luke is teaching, and I like the concept of his lessons, I even like the design and ideas around the casino town Canto Bight. But it feels like there always has to be a negative attached. Like with Luke's lessons; he tells Rey the Jedi's legacy is actually failure, but it ignores a thousand generations and all the good they actually did. Or how the scenes on Cantonica are mostly filler and can be kind of awkward, even though I like the design of the town. Or even how Luke tries to push that it was his fault for Kylo Ren being evil, when he doesn't really show anything that bad. He randomly threatens to kill Kylo...but Kylo then kills a bunch of kids, burns his temple, and then joins the First Order to kill zillions others. But...there's a lot of dumb things too...for instance, back with the Resistance, they decide to evacuate a ship that ran out of fuel...not use it to escape, not use the fuel for the Raddus, just...abandon it...except for the admiral aboard, who decides to stay and die...for no given reason. I just get so conflicted with this movie. I feel like Rey, actually! ¬‿¬ But seriously though, I think I would have really been into this movie had I thought less about it. All the bits that come together, like Rey's mirror scene, the Rey-Kylo connection, even Luke's descent in his exile...but I feel like it needed something cleaned up to make it work. But oh well... In the end, I still like the movie for the bits I like, but I will probably love it more for the potential it had than the results. But that's fine, here's hoping Episode IX takes advantage of its potential. Sincerely, Lan Prower Kopaka Weird sounding title, I know, but for Today's Topic Talk, I wanted to talk about a few different games I've played recently. A LOT of leftover games, some I had only barely started, some I got deep into but stopped. In the case of this first game, I never actually played it myself. Super Mario 64 DS is a remake for Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64, released on the Nintendo DS. For years I avoided trying either game because whenever people talk about Super Mario 64, it's usually in favor of the original over the remake, and for a while I didn't have a means of getting the original. It was released eventually on consoles I own, like the Wii U, but I still wasn't sure I wanted to go for it. After all, Super Mario 64 is 22 years old...age might have held back my enjoyment of the game. In the end, a friend let me borrow the DS remake, and after playing it...well, I definitely still prefer Sonic. :P But I still appreciate the good game that SM64DS is, and I feel that, had I played the original first, I don't think it would have changed my opinion much. I still like the main form the gameplay, and while SM64DS is tough to play on a DS (or 3DS in my case), I think the additions of new characters, nicer graphics, and new missions and minigames make the DS version the right choice, for me at least. Speaking of making choices... Choosing between whether to play DMC 1 or DMC 3 first may seem like an odd decision, but having the inside knowledge not only makes the need for choosing clear, but also making both games more enjoyable. See, DMC 3 is a prequel to DMC 1, and DMC 3 is, in my opinion, a much better game. You could probably start just fine with DMC 1, and DMC 1 is an enjoyable experience regardless...but I feel like, if you only ever play one, 3 is the best choice. The characters are funnier, the story is more interesting, the graphics are better, and you get a lot of cooler weapons and items in DMC 3. At least in my opinion, but regardless of which you start with, nowadays it's easy to get both, as they come in a collection, along with DMC 2. Maybe we'll talk about that another day...but I'm not in a hurry to play that...let that be a sign of things to come. Speaking of not being in a hurry...I waited way too long to play this one. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the big conclusion of the story of Solid Snake, and is the game that made me try the Metal Gear series. The game is famous for massive cutscenes and crazy story beats, and that intrigued me enough that I wanted to try the series out. I decided to wait, however, and play the games before it first. The series is massive, but thanks to the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection, I was able to catch up pretty quick. I played through MGS 1, 2, and 3...but after playing 3, I decided to play in timeline order, and 3 is a prequel, so it led nicely to watching MGS Portable Ops (a game I want but currently can't get due to not owning a PSP [and I may still get someday just because I need Sonic Rivals {yeah, the wonders of being a Sonic fan :P}]). After that was Peace Walker, and...I've had mixed feelings on that game for years. I'll get to it another day, but after playing that, Metal Gear Solid V came out, so I went to playing those instead of MGS 4. And, well...I have yet to beat MGS V. I've had conflicting feelings on that game too, hence why I stopped for so long. In the end, I'll come back to it, and maybe use that experience to have me try out the original Metal Gear games. In any case, I jumped to MGS 4, and...yeah, the wait was worth it. It's an awesome game, sadly with some annoying flaws, but better than some would say. It is very cutscene heavy, and there are a lot of optional conversations you can have, but I was happy to have them. And now that I have beaten it... I can finish up the last game in the timeline, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance! This game actually takes place in 2018 (in May I think, so we just missed the exact right month, but at least we got the year right!), and I've been wanting to get this played for a while. It fits well after playing DMC 1 and DMC 3, since it's another hack-and-slash type of game, though it's very different than the stealth gameplay Metal Gear is famous for. But I'm fine with that, and though Rising is flawed, I like it a lot. My big problem is the game can be tough, and doesn't always make it clear how to best play the game. Interestingly, I like that DMC 1 and 3 gave ratings to how well you beat enemies, and I wish Rising did as well. I think it would help to show how good you're doing in each fight. You only get a rating after beating all enemies in an area, and it's just a bit more complicated for that. That said though, I enjoyed the gameplay, the music, the story, and the characters. It also helps that the game has some free DLC starring the cyborg samurai you fight against in the main game, and a robot wolf. Playing as a talking robot dog...how could you resist this game? By playing one of the greatest games of all time! I'll admit, it's not for everyone, and it's a massive game, one of the largest games I've played (though ironically the game I've played that is even larger...is Xenoblade Chronicles X). Xenoblade is an awesome game, the characters, music, and story are all epic and fun, and the gameplay is complex at first, but becomes very fulfilling the longer you stick with the game. The only downsides to the game is the graphics (which are fine enough for the Nintendo Wii system, but it turns some people away), the guide-dang-it moments (the game tries to avoid making you look up answers online...but it doesn't always succeed), and the length itself (chances are you'll be playing for almost 100 hours before reaching the halfway point, so you get lots of content to play in, but that could be overwhelming).
While I still love Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut more as my favorite game of all time, this game takes second place for me. It does so many amazing things, and I'll glad I've gotten to play this game, and I'll happily play it again in the future. ~~~ Finally...lots of games I waited to play...done! Now to move on to other things. Maybe...finishing Metal Gear Solid V? Eh...maybe... Sincerely, Lan Prower Kopaka Today's Topic Talk is a bit delayed, but it's one I've wanted to talk about, because after seeing Solo: A Star Wars Story, I feel like I had a big perspective change on what I wanted with the Star Wars movies, so...let's get to the shocking discussion! Okay, not that shocking. ~~~ So, before getting to spoilers, I came into the movie not expecting much. I was never a big fan of Han Solo as a character. He was fine, and I've grown to like him more as I've gotten older, but he never was that appealing to me. So naturally, I wasn't really excited for the movie about him. It is a prequel and basically an origin story for his character, which I normally like, but I still wasn't completely caught into the hype. I really just went to see it because it's a Star Wars movie. But after seeing it...well, it was inspiring enough to make me want to write about it. :P Solo: A Star Wars Story is not a mind-blowing experience, but it is an experience that is fun and does work as an origin story. That said though, I did see the movie by myself, so I haven't really had an opportunity to really get into talking about the movie, especially with the concept of spoilers. Since I want to talk about that...and you might not...bye! Or you could just watch the movie and come back to read this. If so, I'll wait. Alright, I think that's enough spacing for safety's sake...so, let us spoil that ending!
~~~ So uh...yeah, Darth Maul. Wow. So, I think some people were really surprised he's alive, but less appearing in a live action movie again, but if you've kept up with the cartoons (which are canon), you know he's survived his "death" in Episode I, and was just kind of bouncing around since then in various states of...distress? For lack of a better word. So I wasn't surprised he was alive, rather that he was in the movie at all. Even without the cartoon revealing he's been alive since, it's crazy to see him come back into live-action. I'm excited to see more of the Star Wars spinoff movies now just because of that move. It was the first thing I saw out of these movies that made me feel like there was a solid plan in place, or at least solidus in design. Granted, I could be wrong and Maul was thrown in last minute, but either way, it's an inspiring move. The key though, is what they do next with him. One thing for sure is he has to be used carefully, since by the time of the Original Trilogy, Jedi, Sith, and Force related stuff in general is going from factual to mythical in terms of population awareness. Han Solo specifically isn't really a believer in all of that, yet if he met Darth Maul...that would be harder to argue against. This does bring up another point though, in that I feel the Darth Maul reveal is a really noteworthy thing and makes the movie seem more interesting, since it does give you another reason to watch it and see how characters like Qi'ra and Dryden act...but you can't really tell anyone about Maul unless they're okay with spoilers. It's tough to really hype up the movie in that way, and really, in the end of it...the movie shouldn't be that hyped anyway. As much as I liked this movie, I think it was treated a bit too importantly. In other words, it's good for a spinoff, but it should not be viewed as more than that. Not something to rival the main series of movies, but something enjoyable that's worth seeing. I think the budget for the movie and the marketing might have gone against that, and it would be a shame if Disney took the reception of this movie and didn't make more spinoff movies. After seeing this, I want more. Give me that Obi-Wan movie. Give me more movies to show what's up with Darth Maul and Qi'ra. But whatever, I'm hyped for Star Wars, and look forward to seeing more soon. Sincerely, Lan Prower Kopaka Today's Topic Talk goes over the remaining conferences I didn't get to talk about, and hopes for E3. For me, E3 is one of the big things I look forward to each year. It makes me happy to see so many games, and so much love behind them. For the most part...sometimes these conferences just leave you baffled and confused and wondering if logic jumped away from these companies. But, talking about the mistakes, there's fun in that too. :P So, to keep things brief because there are just too many announcements to cover, I won't go into detail this time, I'll just point out my highlights of each show. Starting with... Square Enix: There's unfortunately not a lot to talk about here. We got to see some of a new game, Babylon's Fall, but it was pretty vague. We got more looks at games like Kingdom Hearts III and Octopath and Dragon Quest, and some other weird games that I'm not really into...but I guess some people are? Unfortunately Square Enix hasn't really made a game to catch, so...oh well. What did you think, Zelda? Got it. Moving on! ~~~ Ubisoft: So...Ubisoft is famous for their weird shows. And gosh, do they know how to start as weird as possible. But, ignoring weird dance segments, there was some good things in the show. I enjoyed seeing the goofiness of Trials Rising's creator, I was intrigued by what the prequel Beyond Good & Evil 2 will have to make it worthwhile, I loved and cringed at the Star Fox appearance with Miyamoto, and I am excited to see if Assassin's Creed Odyssey lives up to the hype that a name like Odyssey implies. Ubisoft may be an awkward company that makes me question certain things, but I'm interested in seeing what their next move is. I'll let Sheik rate this one. PC Gaming Show: ...Moving on. Okay, fine, to be fair, this year's PC Gaming Show wasn't as bad as last year's, but...I don't know, these shows never have enough excitement to really pull me in. It doesn't help that I'm not into PC gaming, but still. I did at least like the looks of Ooblets, Sable, and all the Sega games (obviously :P). But gosh, enough with the battle royales. Like, I get it's the hot new genre, but a lot of them have a habit of looking very similar. Oh well, that's how gaming goes sometimes. I'll have Kapp'n express my thoughts for this one. Sony: Oh, Sony...why did you make such a horrible conference? You have such great games, and your previous conferences have been good, but this conference was...weird. Not Devolver Digital weird, so don't worry about that, but still, why was this conference so awkward and weird? Bango playing? Random cutaways to characters playing instruments? What...on Mobius...was that all about? Well, in any case, the games shown seem good. For the most part. I'm mostly just digging for Kingdom Hearts III (hurray for more Pirates), Ghost of Tsushima, and of course Spider-Man. I'm of two minds for how to feel about Sony's conference and the games shown, so I'll let Midna and Link express my thoughts. And lastly, but definitely not least... Nintendo: Otherwise known as: yes, we have a new Smash Brothers, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and yes, everything we're showing you is amazing or cool in some way. There's not really much I need to say other than I totally enjoyed this, and this is why I love watching E3, just building up to stuff like this. I'm pretty happy to have shared my thoughts on things again, and hopefully I'll be inspired enough after this to keep coming up with topics to talk about. Hopefully I won't have to wait until next E3 to find something to talk about. :P
Sincerely, Lan Prower Kopaka So...today's been a busy day for the E3 scene, and leaves a lot for Today's Topic Talk. I personally wasn't expecting such a massive amount of games to be announced and shown, and will give a nod of admiration for Microsoft for their part. Not every game interested me, and not every thing Microsoft showed was good, but there's a lot to talk about with them first, so... Microsoft: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6GAxUVs37c ~~~ 1. Halo Infinite. So...I'm not into Halo, and this didn't show a lot, but...it's Halo, so it gets a lot of hype automatically from people. I hope you fans enjoy it? 2. Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I didn't get to play the other Ori game. I wanted to since it's a Metroidvania, but it wasn't on a system for me. Hopefully there's a chance I get to try the games someday, especially since the creator of AM2R is supposed to be working on this new game. Also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKCXHiVq8tU ~~~ 3. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice...I don't know how a shadow dies once, much less twice, but it's made by the people that want you to prepare to die, so...okay. Nice to have a feudal Japan looking game. ~~~ 4. Fallout 76 was shown, and apparently it's a prequel to the series. Hmm...depending on what they release it on, maybe I'll actually start my Fallout series experience here. Maybe. ~~~ 5. The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit...well...uh...not sure what to say on this one. I guess it's connected to Life Is Strange...and it certainly felt like a strange game...it's also apparently free, so that's cool...though I'm not sure what you do in the game, so...shrug again? 6. Crackdown 3, interesting, it seems like a weird game, but I used to know a guy that was really hyped for it. I think that was 3 years ago, so...this took a while, and it's still not even out yet. Sheesh, I hope it's worth the wait. ~~~ 7. Nier Automata: Become As Gods Edition looks cool. I'm not sure if it'll be worth getting though since it's only digital supposedly. Oh well, more attention for a cool looking game is good. ~~~ 8. Metro Exodus was shown off some more. Not really into the Metro series either, but...I guess it looks good. It takes place in snow though, so...too cold for me. ~~~ 9. Kingdom Hearts III...why is this the only one being released on Xbox? What a weird move...but oh well, let it go. ~~~ 10. Sea of Thieves DLC was shown...but what I'm more curious about is A: was the old pirate supposed to be Jack Sparrow-ish? He randomly had a compass at the end of the cutscene, and there was no reason for him to have it at that moment. And B: does the game have a story? It seems like it might, so that would be interesting, but I never heard anything about it, so...eh? ~~~ 11. Battlefield V...again... 12. Forza Horizon 4...oh, look at you, Mr Forza, getting some extra time to show off gameplay. It does look nice, but then it got a bit weird and had a boat drive by...that reminded me of Rumble Racing. I miss that game... ~~~ 13. Then, to be different, Microsoft decided to announce partnerships with new studios. I'm not sure what they're going to be working on...but hopefully they get to make what they want. Microsoft has had a history of ruining developers, like Rare... ~~~ 14. We Happy Few got shown off again. Still seems like a creepy game... ~~~ 15. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds...that's not released yet? :S ~~~ 16. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition...well, Internet, you can explode with joy...though more that it's being released, not so much that you'd get it for Xbox. I mean, you can...but methinks PS4 and Switch releases will suit people better. ~~~ 17. The Division...2... Unfortunately, there's more to say because...well, Microsoft decided to spend a ton of time showing it off. I'm not much into shooters...or multiplayer shooters...but this game...it really doesn't appeal to me. It doesn't help that the people playing the game sound very fake and rehearsed, which is not going to sell me either. I don't think that works on anyone, so...please stop doing it. ~~~ 18. And now...some random talk about games starting faster and that Game Pass thing. Very slow paced discussion, and doesn't work well to appeal to me...oh well. :/ ~~~ 19. After this, they went with a highlight reel to show off a bunch of smaller but interesting games. There's only a few seconds dedicated to each one, so unfortunately it is a bit hard to really get an appreciation for any of them, but I do think Waking, Raji: An Ancient Epic, and Ashen look interesting enough that I'd want to learn more about them. ~~~ 20. Shadow of the Tomb Raider...will she raid tombs?! ...I don't know, hopefully? ~~~ 21. Session...well, we needed a GOOD new skateboarding game...we'll see if this is it. ~~~ 22. The MMORPG Black Desert. This trailer was actually pretty interesting to me. Not perfect, but there were some interesting concepts I wanted to learn more about...until the title appeared, revealing the game is an MMO. Well, that interest is gone. Too bad. 23. Devil. May. Cry. 5. FIVE. What?! Wow...good job Capcom, you lived AND you learned. That said, I'm not big into DMC, but I also want to be, and this helps to reinvigorate that interest. I hope it's good, but I think that, seeing that we're seeing gameplay, a likable Dante again, and potentially interesting story...there's a lot of hope here. ~~~ 24. Cuphead in "The Delicious Last Course"...Cuphead apparently is really hard, that's what I've heard at least. Will this make it easier for me, or will it just be new content? I'm not sure...but either way, celebrate, Cuphead fans. ~~~ 25. Tunic is adorable and makes me really happy to see that little fox bob around. The camera seems a little weird, but I'd love to play this game. ~~~ 26. Jump Force...oh no, I used my Goku pic too soon! What else do I have?! ...Sure, whatever. Anyso, they really didn't show a lot to go off of here. I'm not sure how much was gameplay...if any. It certainly seemed all cinematic stuff, which...tells me nothing of the game. So yeah, for some, that's kind of like a punch to the gut. ~~~ 27. Dying Light 2...I know so little of this game series, so I won't say anything. They showed some gameplay, but...eh, not my thing. ~~~ 28. Battletoads was announced...another really hard game for Xbox...they seem to be attracting a lot of those lately. ~~~ 29. Just Cause 4 got shown, and I never had an interest in the series...but, I will admit, it is hard to resist enjoying a guy that just runs into a tornado. Though it would have been better if he was a blue hedgehog. ~~~ 30. Gears Pop!, Gears Tactics, and Gears 5 all got announced...I've never been into the Gears of War series...but the story for Gears 5 did seem somewhat interesting, so congrats for catching my interest. ~~~ 31. Cyberpunk 2077...well, I love futuristic games, but I'm not sure what this is yet. I'll need to see more of it first. ~~~ And that's it for Microsoft! Finally...that took forever...a good show, but a LOT to take in. I still feel like I need to think some things over more, but for now it's fine. Now, before we continue, we need to talk about... Bethesda: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZOfMttL_Io ~~~ 1. Well...was not expecting a rock song to introduce Rage 2...I have no knowledge of the Rage series, but you caught my attention Bethesda, so good start. ~~~ 2. The Elder Scrolls apparently had a card game...I did not know that. But I guess it'll be on a bunch of consoles, so...good! If you're into that. I already got Yugioh and that one Digimon card game...and Mega Man Battle Network, if that counts. ~~~ 3. We also got to talk more about Elder Scrolls Online. Good for the fans of that, I guess. ~~~ 4. Doom Eternal...the latest Doom game. Doom isn't doomed, and doom to anyone who is doomed to not want more doom...or not, I don't know, depends on if you want to be doomed. If so, you should probably play Doom Eternal. ~~~ 5. Quake Champions...eSports eSports eSports. ~~~ 6. Prey talk. You spin me right round, baby, right round, like a record baby, right round round round. ~~~ 7. Wolfenstein Youngblood got some attention, and it features twin ladies, so hurray for co-op heroics. ~~~ 8. And...time to lose me with VR. I'll probably never get a chance to play these VR games, but hopefully they make whoever invested in VR happy. ~~~ 9. Skyrim Special Edition lulz. That was pretty funny. ~~~ 10. Fallout 76! Again! ...Yeah, not sure what else to say to that. There does seem to be a heavy focus for online, but it seems optional, so that seems good. ~~~ 11. They definitely talked a lot about it, quite the bit blowout for it. They also talked a bit about Fallout Shelter as well, but it was interesting to see a lot for Fallout 76. ~~~ 12. Also, an Elder Scrolls mobile game. It uh...it's impressive what they can make work on a phone, of all things, but uh...I don't really like mobile games. ~~~ 13. And finally...Starfield and Elder Scrolls Six got teased. They...didn't show a lot, but I guess that's all pretty cool. That was pretty good too, they showed a lot more than I expected. Bethesda is really coming up as a major publisher, and it's got a great track record for games, so I'm excited if I get to play some of their games eventually. Though unfortunately...the night must end on a...strange note. Because now we're going to talk about... Devolver Digital: ......................................................... Moving on. So yeah, another day of E3 down! Honestly, I'm hard pressed to choosing between Microsoft and Bethesda at this point. They each might have been the best so far, just do to how much they showed. It's impressive, and yet there's still more to see! In the meantime though, I'll have Mr Game & Watch give my opinions of the three shows. A pleasant surprise, a highly rating, and...a need to escape. Yeah, that's about right. Sonyway, tomorrow gives us four more shows for E3! Sadly I won't get to watch them until later that day, but oh well, let's hope those catch more excitement, entertainment, and enjoyment!
Huzzah! Back at long last, Today's Topic Talk! And today I'm talking about the return of E3, the trade event show for video games! And...we're starting with EA's press conference first... Okay, okay, so it's not the best way to start. One should come into these more optimistically, and typically I have, and will do so for most of the other conferences. But, unfortunately, the company is a bit...well, unlikable. In most senses of the word. They've been rated badly as a company compared to all other companies multiple times, and each time they try to drum up hype in these press conferences, it results in various stages of boredom, disappointment, aggravation, or some combination of all three. All that said though, there is a chance you'd enjoy watching it, and if so, click the link and enjoy. https://youtu.be/4cfHaR6tjpk?t=2m9s Me though? I...did not enjoy this show, and I'll go into detail game by game, starting with... ~~~ 1. Battlefield V was shown! And it takes place during World War II! And it has a battle royale mode! Yeah, it's uh...it's good for Battlefield fans...I think. Unfortunately I've seen so many shooters, so another one isn't enough to catch me. I will admit, when they showed a tank driving through a house, I thought that could be interesting, but I don't imagine a lot of exciting things happening with it. Overall, the Battlefield series never captured my interest, and this one doesn't either. ~~~ 2. A new FIFA game...if there's one thing EA loves to show off, it's sports games. And uh...those don't appeal to me either. I'm not sure how successful they are, but I imagine with the game being soccer, there is some people who really like it. Still...I don't know if all this promotion and cinematic trailers are catching the interest of people. If they are, I haven't seen any of the hype in my world. Overall...ehh... ~~~ 3. EA Origin Access Premiere, onslaughting your mind and making you regret your decisions to watch these conferences sober. I guess it has to do with the Cloud, or subscriptions, or...streaming? I had trouble following this, and it was mostly just a guy talking for more minutes than they needed. Too much talking and confusion...let's move on... ~~~ 4. A new Star Wars game was announced! Buuuut...they did it with director of the game as they just sat in the crowd. No trailer, no concept art, honestly, it didn't even seem like it was planned. But it must have been staged that way, there's no way they wouldn't, so...that was weird. But still, Jedi: Fallen Order seems like it could be the single player Star Wars game we've needed for a long time. And speaking on Star Wars... ~~~ 5. Star Wars Battlefront EA II is here too. For those unaware, Battlefront EA II has been...controversial. Like, to the point it's caused governments to reevaluate how they view games, or at least how monetization is handled in games. I haven't played it myself, but I haven't heard it was that great anyway, and considering the debacle with the loot boxes and microtransactions, it's not something I really want to try. Not all products bearing the Star Wars logo will turn out good, and even if you add in new DLC, that doesn't mean it's going to making Battlefront EA II better. ~~~ 6. Unravel two...seems cute, it has grabbed the attention of some people, and has co-op. It could be good...though I don't know how the first Unravel did. It also reminds me of Chibi-Robo: Zip Lash!, which didn't get a lot of positive reception, but I liked it. Chibi-Robo, what do you think of this? Alrighty then. ~~~ 7. A Way Out was talked about briefly. I'm not sure if it was interesting for fans of that game, but it was a guy just talking about it, so that was...boring. ~~~ 8. Sea Of Solitude was shown...eventually. There was a lot of talking before they showed what it looked like. It could be good, but there's not a lot to go off yet, so it's a case of wait and see. With all that said, with the positivity of two small but interesting games, it's time to ruin it all with... ~~~ 9. Next...is NBA Live 19. I'm not a fan of sports games. Sorry. ~~~ 10. And then there was Madden. Two sports games in a row. 11. And finally...Anthem. Anthem, AKA That-Iron-Man-Game, was the big game everyone wanted to see. The host of the press conference even made fun about that fact. It got the most hype, and yet...it took SOOOOO long to get to actually seeing it. A repeated trailer, a lot of developers talking, and then, finally, some gameplay. It doesn't really seem like my kind of game either, but at the very least it seems like an interesting enough concept. Hopefully for anyone interested in the game, it won't get caught in controversies like other EA games did. ~~~ And that's it! At least for EA's showcase. I'm not sure how many people liked it, but, well, it could have been a lot worse. For me, though...I'll let Dark Pit rate it for me! Confusing...and scary. Good enough...anyso, tomorrow gives us three more shows for E3! Let's hope those catch more excitement, entertainment, and enjoyment!
