Huzzah! Back at long last, Today's Topic Talk! And today I'm talking about the return of E3, the trade event show for video games!
And...we're starting with EA's press conference first...
Okay, okay, so it's not the best way to start. One should come into these more optimistically, and typically I have, and will do so for most of the other conferences. But, unfortunately, the company is a bit...well, unlikable. In most senses of the word. They've been rated badly as a company compared to all other companies multiple times, and each time they try to drum up hype in these press conferences, it results in various stages of boredom, disappointment, aggravation, or some combination of all three.
All that said though, there is a chance you'd enjoy watching it, and if so, click the link and enjoy.

Me though? I...did not enjoy this show, and I'll go into detail game by game, starting with...

1. Battlefield V was shown! And it takes place during World War II! And it has a battle royale mode!

Yeah, it's uh...it's good for Battlefield fans...I think. Unfortunately I've seen so many shooters, so another one isn't enough to catch me. I will admit, when they showed a tank driving through a house, I thought that could be interesting, but I don't imagine a lot of exciting things happening with it. Overall, the Battlefield series never captured my interest, and this one doesn't either.

2. A new FIFA game...if there's one thing EA loves to show off, it's sports games. And uh...those don't appeal to me either. I'm not sure how successful they are, but I imagine with the game being soccer, there is some people who really like it. Still...I don't know if all this promotion and cinematic trailers are catching the interest of people. If they are, I haven't seen any of the hype in my world. Overall...ehh...

3. EA Origin Access Premiere, onslaughting your mind and making you regret your decisions to watch these conferences sober. I guess it has to do with the Cloud, or subscriptions, or...streaming? I had trouble following this, and it was mostly just a guy talking for more minutes than they needed. Too much talking and confusion...let's move on...

4. A new Star Wars game was announced!

4. A new Star Wars game was announced!
Buuuut...they did it with director of the game as they just sat in the crowd. No trailer, no concept art, honestly, it didn't even seem like it was planned. But it must have been staged that way, there's no way they wouldn't, so...that was weird. But still, Jedi: Fallen Order seems like it could be the single player Star Wars game we've needed for a long time. And speaking on Star Wars...

5. Star Wars Battlefront EA II is here too.

5. Star Wars Battlefront EA II is here too.
For those unaware, Battlefront EA II has been...controversial. Like, to the point it's caused governments to reevaluate how they view games, or at least how monetization is handled in games. I haven't played it myself, but I haven't heard it was that great anyway, and considering the debacle with the loot boxes and microtransactions, it's not something I really want to try. Not all products bearing the Star Wars logo will turn out good, and even if you add in new DLC, that doesn't mean it's going to making Battlefront EA II better.

6. Unravel two...seems cute, it has grabbed the attention of some people, and has co-op. It could be good...though I don't know how the first Unravel did. It also reminds me of Chibi-Robo: Zip Lash!, which didn't get a lot of positive reception, but I liked it. Chibi-Robo, what do you think of this?

Alrighty then.

7. A Way Out was talked about briefly. I'm not sure if it was interesting for fans of that game, but it was a guy just talking about it, so that was...boring.
~~~
8. Sea Of Solitude was shown...eventually. There was a lot of talking before they showed what it looked like. It could be good, but there's not a lot to go off yet, so it's a case of wait and see. With all that said, with the positivity of two small but interesting games, it's time to ruin it all with...
9. Next...is NBA Live 19.
I'm not a fan of sports games. Sorry.
10. And then there was Madden. Two sports games in a row.
11. And finally...Anthem. Anthem, AKA That-Iron-Man-Game, was the big game everyone wanted to see. The host of the press conference even made fun about that fact. It got the most hype, and yet...it took SOOOOO long to get to actually seeing it. A repeated trailer, a lot of developers talking, and then, finally, some gameplay. It doesn't really seem like my kind of game either, but at the very least it seems like an interesting enough concept. Hopefully for anyone interested in the game, it won't get caught in controversies like other EA games did.
And that's it! At least for EA's showcase. I'm not sure how many people liked it, but, well, it could have been a lot worse. For me, though...I'll let Dark Pit rate it for me!
Confusing...and scary. Good enough...anyso, tomorrow gives us three more shows for E3! Let's hope those catch more excitement, entertainment, and enjoyment!
