Today's Topic Talk is back again! No long wait times! Great, what are we covering today?
Ooh...yeah, I've been meaning to talk about this game a lot. I figured I'd probably talk more about it whenever my comic caught up to this...but that's zillions of years away. XD;;
But hey, that's fine, it's good to talk about this, right guys?

This isn't exactly the Internet's favorite game. A ton of people have already expressed their problems with the game...but there's so much to like too! Even if it gets a bit...awkward. But we can get past that, right?
...Ah. Well then...I guess let's get to it.
Alright, I sound more negative than I mean to be. This game, to me at least, is a bit of a flawed but fun experience. There's a lot I consider good for the game. It looks nice, the story is surprisingly dark and serious, and there's a lot of levels and things to unlock. We even get a custom avatar character that we can customize and change the abilities and outfits to a zillion different things.
And of course, the music is amazing.

The downside to all this is, well...it's not done perfectly. Despite a long development time and a delay to polish things, things still don't feel right. If you're an avid player of the series, you'll notice that characters like Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic are missing abilities, or their controls are not as well designed as they were in prior games.
Plus, for all the good the game does in bringing in Sonic's friend and giving them a reason to be in the story, they're still underutilized compared to what they could have done with them.
I mean some of the problems with the game can be put down to hindsight, but some of the problems here are pretty apparent, and Sonic Team should have realized people were going to have problems with missing abilities, or a lack of boss fights against major returning villains.

Like, that looks amazing, but you can't play that. You barely even see the fight in a cutscene, the scene is too short and isn't as visually marvelous. It's a shame, to lose that potential.
Though there's theories that a lot got cut from the game too. Things like Classic Sonic and a stronger connection to Sonic Mania...

The weird giant Infinite monsters had more importance (or even a theory that they may have been Perfect Chaos clones at one point)...
Or even that this guy was supposed to be there in place of the custom avatar (signified by the Enerbeam whip he uses and the rumored title Sonic Dimensions)...
Yeah...a lot of mysteries with this game.
In any case, I do like it, despite being a flawed game. But there's one more set of flaws I wanted to go over.

I've always been the type to try and complete all the games I own. Recently I stopped doing that because I had so many games and so many projects I've been trying to work on (like Today's Topic Talk! ;D). But I decided if I was going to jump into a new game (in this case Fire Emblem: Three Houses), I'd want to 100% complete at least two games first. One of them was Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (a topic for another time)...
But the other was Sonic Forces. The game should have been pretty easy to complete, but some of the final challenges are related to actually speed running some of the levels in the game. And...sheesh, I'm pretty sure I must have set some records with some of my runs, considering I couldn't find a lot of speed runs to study for this (and those speed runs would barely meet the times needed too). I'm not the speed running type, so this was not fun for me.
The unfortunate thing is, even after doing all this, the only rewards were clothes. Not appealing to me, personally...

But if it was appealing to you, then you basically had to complete the entire game to potentially get your favorite clothing item (as far as I can tell, it's random what you get after beating each challenge).
It's a shame that more thought wasn't put into this (at least give a password function or something, so non-completionists have a method). But, either way, at least I managed to finish this, and though I'll probably play the game again someday, but I need some time to recooperate from that stress. :P
Anyso, I already completed this a while back, as well as Paper Mario 2, so we've got a spoiler to the next topic! :O I'll get to that soon, but obviously I've already completed both...hopefully completing Three Houses doesn't take me a zillion years...
Okay, so I think we're done here...well, alright, one more last Fist Bump. :P
